Season Opening of Kaiserslautern Gartenschau
After the long winter break it´s time for Kaiserslautern Gartenschau to open its doors for visitors. Thousands of spring flowers bloom at the park right now. 70 life-sized dinosaur figures are excited to welcome the first visiting kids again. In addition to a skateboard park, playgrounds, and picnic areas there is also a LEGO exhibition to marvel at. The exhibition shows replicas of regional and world-famous buildings as well as lovingly designed miniature worlds. Hobby Artists' Market at Bürgerhaus Hütschenhausen
The association "UC Heimat- und Kulturverein Hütschenhausen e.V." hosts its Hobby Artists´ Market at the community center of Hütschenhausen. The market is held on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 30 hobby artists present their works of art such as watercolor painting, dog collars, recycled handbags, insect hotels, candles, shell paintings, plotter work, Easter decorations, birdhouses, and crochet work. Furthermore, a wide choice of cakes and pastries is offered, also to go. A balloon artist entertains the children. Admission is free. The organizers are looking forward to welcoming you!

Family Day of the Limestone Mine in Wolfstein
A family friendly entertainment program is provided in the limestone mine from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. The program includes games for the young and the old. Throwing the marshmallows with the catapult, game of darts, limestone quiz and games of skill create great fun! Additionally, German guided tours through the tunnels are offered. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are recommended. Last entry is at 5 p.m. Entrance fee is € 7 for adults, € 6 for youths and € 18.50 for families (2 adults and own children). Hinkelstein Hiking Marathon in Otterberg
This is the right event for ramblers and sports enthusiasts! The hiking marathon takes place along the certified Hinkelstein hiking trail, which leads along untouched forest trails and fields, past historical boundary stones, quaint ponds, charming landscapes, and breathtaking views such as the Donnersberg Mountain. Participants have the choice between a marathon distance of approx. 42 kilometers (26 miles) with 500 meters difference in altitude and a half-marathon distance of approx. 22 kilometers (13.7 miles) with 200 meters difference in altitude. The hiking trail is marked and signposted. Along the route there are 7 refreshment stations and checkpoints. Participants can either hike or run the marathon distance. Hikers can start the hiking marathon from 7.30 a.m. until 8 a.m. and runners can start from 9 a.m. until 9.30 a.m. The hiking half marathon can be started from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Start and finish is at Stadthalle Otterberg. Registrations on the day of the event are only possible if the event is not yet fully booked! Participation fee for the run and the half marathon is € 20, for the marathon € 25.
