Teenager Clothing Bazaar in Ramstein

The traditional clothing bazaar is held at the Ramstein “Mehrgenerationenhaus” from 9.30 a.m. until noon. Second-hand clothing for teenagers and children from 10 years (starting with German clothing size 140) as well as shoes, accessories, toys and games are sold. Those interested in being a vendor, please contact the “Mehrgenerationenhaus” to sign up. Spots are limited and fill up quickly! You pay € 10 for one table. Blossom Festival in Freinsheim

The ancient village of Freinsheim hosts its annual blossom festival. Visitors are invited to go for a stroll through the historical village center and enjoy the lively springtime. A varied program with arts, culture and entertainment is offered. Nature lovers have the opportunity to walk along the Blossom Hiking Trail and see the beautiful pink and rose-colored landscape on the outskirts of the village. The trail has a length of 3.4 miles and is also recommended for families with strollers. Furthermore, carriage rides are provided on Saturday from 1 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. (meeting point is the winery Kreuzhof on Erpolzheimer Strasse 1). Local vintners offer wine tastings. The wine pass including 8 wine samples of your choice is available at the price of € 12 at the tourist information (on Hauptstrasse 2). Enjoy delicious specialties as well as fizzy beverages and have a great time. The festival takes place from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on both days. Stores are open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Using public transportation is recommended, since the center of the village (old town) is closed to traffic. Exhibition of Model Railroad Layout in Obermoschel

On the fourth and fifth weekend of March the model making club “Modellbaufreunde Obermoschel e.V.“ presents its spring model railroad layout (HO scale). At the club house in Obermoschel diehard model railroad fans can visit an exhibition area of 200 sq m and will get their money's worth. Food and beverages are offered too. Exhibition hours are on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is € 4 for adults and € 1 for children. Classical Concert at the Otterberg Abbey Church

Otterberg's ancient abbey church is a wonderful venue for concerts as it offers sonorous acoustics. This year's first concert focuses on music and texts for Passiontide. The program includes works such as “Via Crucis” and “La lugubre gondola” by Franz Liszt as well pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Volker David Kirchner and Friedrich Gernsheim. Sunday, March 30:

Hinkelstein Hiking Marathon in Otterberg

This is the right event for ramblers and sports enthusiasts! The hiking marathon takes place along the certified Hinkelstein hiking trail, which leads along untouched forest trails and fields, past historical boundary stones, quaint ponds, charming landscapes, and breathtaking views such as Donnersberg Mountain. Participants have the choice between a marathon distance of approx. 42 kilometers (26 miles) with 500 meters difference in altitude and a half-marathon distance of approx. 22 kilometers (13.7 miles) with 200 meters difference in altitude. The hiking trail is marked and signposted. Along the route there are 7 refreshment stations and checkpoints. Participants can either hike or run the marathon distance. Hikers can start the hiking marathon from 7.30 a.m. until 8 a.m. and runners can start from 9 a.m. until 9.30 a.m. The hiking half marathon can be started from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Start and finish is at Stadthalle Otterberg. Registrations on the day of the event are only possible if the event is not yet fully booked! Participation fee for the run and the half marathon is € 20, for the marathon € 25.
