Indoor flea market

A cordial inivation to the indoor flea market in Kottweiler-Schwanden. The „Support Association for the Preservation of the Protestant Church Kottweiler-Schwanden e.V.“ is holding a charity flea market in the Sulzbachhalle on April 5th from 7.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and on April 6th from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The proceeds will go towards the preservation of the local Protestant church. We cordially invite our fellow Americans to this event and look forward to your visit.

METAKILLA Concert at Congress Center Ramstein

Since 2005 Metakilla is the probably most booked METALLICA tribute band in Germany. With more than 200 top-class shows the band is firmly fixed in the professional tribute scene. Metakilla´s first highlight was in 2008, when they were officially committed to the world´s biggest heavy metal festival “Wacken Open-Air”. Fans can look forward to a thrilling concert highlight with “Best of” all METALLICA albums. The concert starts at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. The supporting act Another Nameless Ghost - a tribute to the band GHOST - performs first. Tickets are € 25. Guided Tour of Kaiserslautern in English

Experience the history and culture of Kaiserslautern in a lively way! The tour starts with a visit of the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards the tour continues through the underground passages. These tunnels are approx. 70 meters long. The passages are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating Kaiserslautern in ancient times. The tour starts at 11.15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting Point for the tour is the Tourist Information (address: Fruchthallstrasse 14, 67655 Kaiserslautern). Participation fee is € 7 for adults; the reduced fee is € 6. Easter Fountain Campaign in Spesbach

The Spesbach “Country Women´s Association” organizes an “Easter Fountain Campaign”. Volunteers are asked to help decorate the fountain with their Easter decoration on Landstuhler Strasse in Spesbach. Soft drinks, coffee and cakes are offered. Pictures can be taken with Easter bunny that has a little surprise for children. The campaign starts at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

Sunday, April 6:

Ramstein Spring Festival

The Spring Festival organized by "Werbering Ramstein" (Ramstein Advertising Association) is held on Ramstein´s market square. The municipal parks department of the city of Ramstein turns the market fountain into a beautifully decorated spring wreath. Numerous vendors present their gift ideas, garden decoration, spring flowers, hats and caps, scented lamps, bracelets, and much more. Arts and crafts like woodwork is offered too. Children can look forward to a carousel. An ice cream manufacturer, a cocktail bar and a wine booth invite the people to linger. Food and beverages are available. Live music entertains the visitors. The event starts with the tapping of the beer keg at noon. Admission is free! Stores in the city center are open for Sunday shopping from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Sunday, April 6:

Guided German-American Taste Tour at Königsberg

The union community of Lauterecken-Wolfstein opens the new hiking trail Hütten KulTour. The trail is named after the four cabins located along the trail. On the occasion of the trail opening the community hosts a hiking event on the weekend April 5 and April 6. A guided hiking tour in English and German will be offered on Sunday, April 6. The Tour starts at 11.30 a.m. and takes approximately 5 hours in total. Participants meet at the Glider Airfield in Essweiler (coordinates: 49° 33′ 44″ N, 7° 34′ 45″ O). The tour has a length of about six kilometers (3.7 miles). It includes stops at two cozy cabins with traditional Palatinate food and live music. It is sponsored by the Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz state program. Registration is not required. Participation is free!
