Guided Tour of Kaiserslautern in English

Experience the history and culture of Kaiserslautern in a lively way! The tour starts with a visit to the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards, the tour continues through the underground passages. These tunnels are approx. 70 meters long. The passages are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating Kaiserslautern in ancient times. The tour starts at 11:15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting point for the tour is the Tourist Information (address: Fruchthallstrasse 14, 67655 Kaiserslautern). The participation fee is € 7 for adults; the reduced fee is € 6. Sunday, April 12:

Ramstein Spring Festival

The Spring Festival organized by "Werbering Ramstein" (Ramstein Advertising Association) is held on Ramstein´s market square. The municipal parks department of the city of Ramstein turns the market fountain into a beautifully decorated spring wreath. Numerous vendors present their gift ideas, decorative items, hats and caps, scented lamps, bracelets, and much more. Arts and crafts such as woodwork and needlework are offered too. Children can look forward to a carousel. The ice cream manufacturer, a cocktail bar and a wine booth invite the people to linger. Food and beverages are available. Live music entertains the visitors. The event starts with the tapping of the beer keg at noon and ends at 6 p.m. Stores in the city center open for Sunday shopping from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.
