Thursday, April 25:

Art Exhibition opening at the Ramstein Town Hall

The art association “Freunde der Malerei, Landstuhl e.V.“ presents an arts exhibition at the Ramstein Town Hall. The association exists for more than 40 years now and already hosted numerous exhibitions. At their exhibition in Ramstein 20 artists will display their works - very different techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage, poetry, and many others are shown. In the entrance area, an information wall with a poster and two paintings points out the exhibition, which extends over two floors of the building. The opening is on Thursday, April 25th at 4 p.m. Mayor Ralf Hechler, who made the exhibition possible, will welcome the guests. Afterwards, the first chairman of the art association, Jürgen Knies-Boulesteix, will introduce the exhibition and some artists will explain their works. Afterwards, visitors have the opportunity to look at the exhibits and talk to the artists. The exhibition ends on May 31st. It can be visited throughout the regular opening hours of the town hall which are Monday to Wednesday 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. – 4 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Free admission!

Saturday, April 27 – Sunday, April 28:

German-American Friendship Walk in Ramstein-Miesenbach

The Ramstein Roadrunners Club hosts its annual volksmarch in Miesenbach. Start and finish is the Miesenbach multi-purpose hall (Mehrzweckhalle). Participants have the choice between a trail distance of 5, 10, 16 and 21 kilometers (3.1, 6.2, 10 and 13 miles). Starting time is from 7 a.m. All hikers have to return to the starting point by 4 p.m. on Saturday and by 3 p.m. on Sunday. Participants will get a start card which is needed for receiving the IVV-stamp. Pre-registration is not required for individual walkers but recommended for hiking groups of more than 25 people. Sickingen Trade Fair in Landstuhl

Numerous companies, craftsmen and service providers from the local area will be presenting their goods and services inside and around Landstuhl´s civic center (Stadthalle). Information on health and wellness, home-associated products and much more are offered. A large car show is dedicated to the topic of mobility. On both days music performances will entertain the visitors. Children can enjoy a merry-go-round. The event starts with the tapping of the beer keg on Saturday at noon. Opening hours of the trade fair are Saturday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Stores open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Additionally, a Steet Food Event will be held in the parking lot behind the civic center. 16 street food trucks provide a large and balanced variety of culinary delights. Super tasty and freshly prepared. Whether savory or sweet - all the visitors will find their new favorite dish here. The event takes place on Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., on Saturday from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Outdoor Sports Opening in Johanniskreuz

In cooperation with the Zentrum Pfälzerwald Touristik the House of Sustainability hosts a great outdoor event from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Families and individuals can look forward to many exciting join-in activities, musical entertainment as well as culinary delights. Sports enthusiasts can test the latest outdoor trends, expand their knowledge about their favorite outdoor sport and put their skills to the proof with exercises. Amidst of the Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve, experts will teach visitors about nature, forestry, sustainability, and tourism in a playful way. Furthermore, a guided mountain bike tour and hiking tour are offered. Participation is free of charge.
