Thursday, May 1 – Sunday, May 4:

Street Food Event in Ramstein-Miesenbach

In addition to the “Ramstein Trade Fair” (Westricher Leistungsschau), a street food event takes place on Prometheusplatz in front of the Ramstein town hall. Four days long Ramstein turns into “The Capital of Street Food.” Various street food trucks offer culinary delights from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Saturday, May 3 – Sunday, May 4:

Westrich Trade Fair in Ramstein-Miesenbach

More than 50 trading companies, craftsmen as well as service providers present their goods and services in the city center and inside the Congress Center Ramstein. Regional and home-associated products, information on health and wellness, and a lot more are provided. Cars and motorbikes of different brands are displayed throughout the town center. Food and beverages are offered. Coffee and cakes are available inside the Congress Center Ramstein. A street food event takes place on Prometheusplatz in front of the Ramstein town hall. Opening times of the trade fair are from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Stores in Ramstein city center open for Sunday shopping. Free admission!

Thursday, May 1 – Sunday, May 4:

Adventure Days at Nanstein Castle in Landstuhl

Nanstein Castle in Landstuhl is the perfect venue for a medieval event. Visitors are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. Knight camps, medieval music as well as activities of craftsmen such as ropemaker, blacksmith, and stonemason will bring the castle back to life. The entertainment program for “damsels and squires” includes performances of jesters and wizards, bird of prey demonstrations, join-in activities, and a carousel for children. Furthermore, people can look forward to a fire show on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 9 p. m. Show fights are held on Saturday and Sunday. Food and beverages are offered, too. The event takes place Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. One-day pass is € 7.50. 4-day pass is € 15. Children “under sword size” (smaller than 1 meter) have free admission. To avoid parking difficulties, Park & Ride is offered from the Bann sports field (address: Am Sportplatz 1, 66851 Bann) to Nanstein Castle. Parking fee including transportation is € 2 per person. Guests are also welcome to park in the town and walk to the castle.

Sunday, May 4:

Culinary Hiking Tour around Glan-Münchweiler

Put on your hiking boots and enjoy the panoramic views of the Glan Valley, the Donnersberg Mountain, and the Remigiusberg Mountain! The popular culinary hiking tour is organized by the Union Community Oberes Glantal. Participants can decide between different trails and circular routes. Set your own walking pace and enjoy springtime! Even families with strollers and buggies or hikers who would like to avoid steep hills can participate strolling along the flat Glan-Blies bike trail. Culinary delights from the Palatinate region as well as beverages, coffee, and cakes are offered along the well-signposted trails. Various restaurants, clubs, and associations invite hikers to stop over and take a rest. An interesting event program is offered for the young and old. A tractor exhibition can be visited in the village of Fockenberg-Limberg. Recommended starting points are any of the following train stations: Niedermohr, Glan-Münchweiler, Rehweiler, Matzenbach, and Theisbergstegen. Visitors can easily get to these villages by train departing from Ramstein downtown. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The opening ceremony is held at the Glan-Münchweiler train station at 10 a. m. with musical entertainment by the brass band “Blechquäler.” Participation is free, and registration is not required. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your family!
