Friday, May 1 – Sunday, May 3:
Empire of Prog Festival in Ramstein

Congress Center Ramstein presents its first EMPIRE OF PROG festival. On three days, bands from all over Europe perform and celebrate the genres of classic and progressive rock in Ramstein. The fantastic event features bands such as Galahad (GB), Sammary (DE), Elleven (DE), Chandelier (DE), and Franck Carducci & The Fantastic Squad (FR) to mention but a few. Most acts can look back on decades-long careers with countless CD releases. Throughout the weekend, there are stands providing the audience with merchandise of the performing groups. Admittance is at 3 p.m. each day. Day tickets are € 65.90 and 3-day-tickets are € 165.90. Saturday, May 2:
“Time Travel” – English Tour in Otterberg

Get on the rustic, horse-drawn covered wagon, and travel back in time through the city of Otterberg. The tour combines tradition and the modern age. With virtual reality glasses you immerse yourself in days gone by: from the time of the monastery in 1254 to the Walloon town in 1615. Imagine the wind in your face, feel the jerking of the wagon, hear the clattering of the horses' hooves, and feel completely transported back to the past. After the carriage ride, a visit to the stately Otterberg Abbey Church awaits you as part of an English guided tour. Here you learn about the exciting history of the church, and you experience the incomparable atmosphere live, no longer virtually but the real present-day occurrences. The “Time Travel” tour takes approx. 1.5 hours and is offered twice. First tour starts at 2:30 p.m. and the second one at 4:30 p.m. Desired dates for groups of 9 to max. 12 people can be arranged upon request. Participation fee is € 45 for adults and € 40 for children and students. Sunday, May 3:
Bike `n´ Hike in the Palatinate Forest

Put on your hiking boots and enjoy the panoramic views of the Glan Valley, Donnersberg Mountain and Remigiusberg Mountain. The official opening of the popular culinary hiking tour is held with musical entertainment at the train station in Glan-Münchweiler at 10 a. m. Hikers can decide between different circular routes and set their individual walking pace. The paved, flat section of the Glan-Blies bike trail with numerous train stops is particularly suitable for families with strollers or people with disabilities. Culinary delights from the Palatinate region as well as beverages, coffee and cakes are offered along the well-signposted trails. Various restaurants, clubs and associations invite hikers to stop over and take a rest. A great entertainment program is offered for the young and old. Recommended starting points are any of the following train stations: Niedermohr, Glan-Münchweiler, Rehweiler, Matzenbach and Theisbergstegen. Visitors can easily get to these villages by train departing from Ramstein downtown. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participation is free, registration is not required. It is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy springtime.
