A Street Food Festival is held in front of Fritz-Walter soccer stadium in Kaiserslautern. About 20 food providers offer culinary specialties. On two days visitors can look over the cooks´ shoulder and taste international dishes. From vegan treats to meat dishes – for everyone´s taste there is something available. The festival takes place on Saturday from noon until 10 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. Admission is € 3.50. There are tickets available at the box office (the advance ticket guarantees you a faster and preferential admission). People with a severely disabled ID and children under 12 years can visit the Street Food Festival for free. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed.

Under the motto “Leave your car, take your bike!” a trail of approx. 20 kilometers (12 miles) belongs solely to the cyclists on this Sunday. The country road L363 between Landstuhl and Waldfischbach-Burgalben will be closed to motorized traffic from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. The scenic route leads from Landstuhl Nanstein Castle through villages like Bann, Queidersbach, Linden, Horbach and Steinalben to Waldfischbach-Burgalben, where the event starts at 10 a.m. An impressive landscape and great fun for the whole family is guaranteed all along the way. Food and beverages, live music as well as an interesting entertainment program including special activities for children will be offered. The “Castle Spring” event at Lichtenberg Castle includes a flower and herb market, special exhibitions as well as join-in activities for children and adults. Guided tours in German are offered free of charge. Entrance to the museums is also free of charge. At the flower and herb market visitors can purchase goods and products such as tea, spices, cooking oils, vinegar, ham, bread, fruits and vegetables as well as decoration items, garden plants, herbal books, ceramics, jewelry, toys and much more. Live music performances entertain the people. Regional dishes, beverages, coffee and cake are available, too. The event takes place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Free admission! Herxheim am Berg is a little and quaint village at the German Wine Street. The approx. 4 km (2.5 miles) long trail leads through the vineyards, where hikers have a wonderful view. Along the circular path participants can taste selected wines of the local vintners and try Palatinate specialties offered at 7 stopover points. The booths along the trail open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Visitors easily can get to Herxheim am Berg by train.
