Friday, June 12 – Sunday, June 14:

Castle & Wine Festival in Wachenheim at the German Wine Street

This weekend, Wachenheim is the place to be. The picturesque village at the German Wine Street invites the visitors to experience a fantastic stage program, culinary specialties, as well as high spirits. Between the historic Wachtenburg Castle and the picturesque alleys, guests can look forward to live performances on 4 stages. Enjoy a glass of wine or sparkling wine from Wachenheim, accompanied by local dishes and highlights such as children´s entertainment on Sunday, June 14. The grand opening is on Friday at 6 p.m. at Wachtenburg Castle, with panoramic views of the Rhine Valley. On Saturday the festival starts at 4 p.m. and on Sunday it starts at 11 a.m. Using public transportation is recommended.

Friday, June 12 – Sunday, June 14:

Lawn Tractor Race in Sembach

Lawn tractor racing is a kind of motorsports. Each summer the “Rasentrecker Neuhemsbach” club hosts a race weekend. The popular event starts with the tapping of the beer keg and shakedown at 6 p.m. on Friday. The rock and party band “Chairwalkers” entertains the visitors from 9 p.m. On Saturday practice and qualifying of different lawn tractor types start at 11 a.m. The spectacular races are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. Good mood is guaranteed by the party band “StageBusters” performing live from 9 p.m. The program on Sunday includes a vehicle exhibition, roller tractor races and helicopter rides. Final races are held from 11.30 a.m. on Sunday. An award ceremony for the race winners will close the event on Sunday afternoon. Food, beverages, and sweets are available throughout the festival weekend. Admission fee for the music party on Friday and Saturday is € 8. Viewing the race spectacle is free of charge! Saturday, June 13 – Sunday, June 14:

25th Medieval Spectacle in Obermoschel

The Castle Ruin of Moschellandsburg is the perfect venue for the medieval market which is held for the 25th time. The young and the old are invited to experience an authentic reenactment of the Middle Ages. The market features Viking and knight camps, craftsmen, musicians, and jugglers. Visitors can look over the craftsmen´s shoulder presenting ancient handiwork. Traders offer a wide range of goods for sale. Show fights of armed warriors guarantee great fun for the whole family. The annual archery tournament starts on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary a concert is held on Saturday at 8 p.m. The highlight of the evening is the spectacular fire show at nightfall (approx. 9:30 p.m.). Food and beverages are available. Opening hours of the medieval market are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission fee for medieval dressed people and children up to 14 years is 7 € (weekend ticket € 12). Adults pay € 10 (weekend ticket € 16). Kids with a height of up to 55 inches have free admission. Parking available near the castle ruin.
