Friday, June 21 – Sunday, June 23:

Lawn Tractor Race in Sembach

Lawn tractor racing is a kind of motorsports. Each summer the “Rasentrecker Neuhemsbach” club hosts a race weekend. The popular event starts with a music party inside the festival tent at 7 p.m. on Friday. The rock band “FUSED – Die Rockfeinschmecker” entertains the visitors from 9 p.m. On Saturday technical checks start at 10 a.m. Practice and qualifying of different lawn tractor types are scheduled from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The spectacle continues with the races from 3.30 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. Good mood is guaranteed by the tractor party starting at 7 p.m. The party band “Magic” performs live from 9 p.m. On Sunday the entertainment program starts from 10 a.m. with a performances of the musical society “Musikverein Sembach”. The program on Sunday includes a vehicle exhibition and helicopter rides. Final races are held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food, beverages, cocktails, and sweets are available. Admission fee for the music party on Friday and Saturday is € 8. Viewing the race spectacle is free of charge! Saturday, June 22 – Sunday, June 23:

Medieval Market at Lichtenberg Castle in Thallichtenberg

At the historic Lichtenberg Castle visitors will be taken back to the Middle Ages. The market features a large knight camp throughout the courtyard, demonstrations of blacksmiths and living history inside the castle tower. The entertainment program includes medieval music and dance performances, exhibition fights, archery, and a lot more. A children´s program is offered, too. Food and beverages according to ancient recipes are available. The official opening of the medieval market starts with gun salutes on Saturday at 2 p.m. The market takes place on Saturday from noon until 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Entrance fee is € 7 for adults and € 5 for children and medieval dressed. Kids up to a height of 1.20 m have free entrance. Parking fee is € 2.

Saturday, June 22:

“Time Travel” – English Tour in Otterberg

Get on the rustic, horse-drawn covered wagon, and travel back in time through the city of Otterberg. The tour combines tradition and modern age. With virtual reality glasses you immerse yourself in days gone by: from the time of the monastery in 1254 to the Walloon town in 1615. Imagine the wind in your face, feel the jerking of the wagon, hear the clattering of the horses' hooves, and feel completely transported back to the past. After the carriage ride, a visit to the stately Otterberg Abbey Church awaits you as part of an English guided tour. Here you learn about the exciting history of the church, and you experience the incomparable atmosphere, live, no longer virtually but the real present-day occurrences. The “Time Travel” tour takes approx. 1.5 hours and is offered twice. First tour starts at 2:30 p.m. and the second one at 4:30 p.m. Participation fee is € 45 for adults and € 40 for children and students. Sunday, June 23:

English Guided Tour around Landstuhl Nanstein Castle

The certified tourist guide Ulli Heist offers a tour around Nanstein Castle with the motto: “The Last Knight Franz von Sickingen and Nanstein Castle”. Learn something about more than 500 years of history of the castle and hear stories about the last knight Franz von Sickingen. In good weather, visitors have a great view, and they can get some additional information about the city (Landstuhl) in the valley. Registration is not required. The tour starts at 10 a.m. and takes approximately 90 minutes. Participation fee is € 5. In addition to that the admission for the castle must be paid at the castle entrance. Meeting point for the tour is the cannon tower of the castle next to the parking lot.
