“Time Travel” – English Tour in Otterberg
Get on the rustic, horse-drawn covered wagon, and travel back in time through the city of Otterberg. The tour combines tradition and the modern age. With virtual reality glasses you immerse yourself in days gone by: from the time of the monastery in 1254 to the Walloon town in 1615. Imagine the wind in your face, feel the jerking of the wagon, hear the clattering of the horses' hooves, and feel completely transported back to the past. After the carriage ride, a visit to the stately Otterberg Abbey Church awaits you as part of an English guided tour. Here you learn about the exciting history of the church, and you experience the incomparable atmosphere, live, no longer virtually but the real present-day occurrences. The “Time Travel” tour starts at 4:30 p.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Desired dates for groups of 9 to max. 12 people can be arranged upon request. German American Friendship Festival in Ramstein
This weekend a big fair is held in celebration of the German-American friendship. The venue is John-F.-Kennedy-Platz in the center of Ramstein. More than 20 stands offer a large variety of culinary specialties and beverages from both countries. Three days long, live music is presented on an open-air stage. On Friday the entertainment program starts at 6 p.m. with the popular music ensemble of the United States Air Forces in Europe Band Touch 'n Go. From 8 p.m. the band FUSED continues with rock music. On Saturday the USAREUR-AF Band & Chorus Free Groove performs at 6 p.m. The party band CHANGES continues with pop, rock, funk and soul music at 8 p.m. On Sunday a family program including join-in activities, bull riding and a bouncy castle is provided. The country band Country To Go performs on stage from 2 p.m. Festival hours are Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free admission! The event is sponsored by the state program "Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz! Our Neighbors from the USA (WiR!)".

Medieval Market at Lichtenberg Castle in Thallichtenberg
The historic Lichtenberg Castle is the perfect venue for such an event. Visitors are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. The market features a large knight camp throughout the courtyard, demonstrations of blacksmiths and living history inside the castle tower. The entertainment program includes medieval music and dance performances, show fights, archery, and a lot more. A children’s program is offered, too. Visitors can look forward to a spectacular fire show on Saturday evening. The museum of natural history GEOSKOP and the museum of local history are located on the premises of the castle and can be visited too. Food and beverages are available. The official opening of the medieval market starts with gun salutes on Saturday at 2 p.m. The market takes place on Saturday from noon until 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Entrance fee is € 8 for adults and € 6 for youths and people dressed in medieval garments. Kids up to a height of 1:20 m have free entrance. Parking fee is € 2.
