Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21:

Seewoog Fest in Miesenbach

The Miesenbach Entertainment Club “UVM” cordially invites you and your family to its annual festival at Seewoog Lake recreation area. The club celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and therefore offers a special festival program: The festival starts on Friday at 5 p.m. The rock band “FUSED” performs from 7:30 p.m. From 9 p.m. there will be a live open-air screening of the soccer world cup match of the US team playing Australia. On Saturday the event continues at 5 p.m. The tapping of the beer keg takes place at 7 p.m. The band “UNDERCOVER” entertains the audience from 8 p.m. This night the program will include a live screening of the soccer world cup match Germany vs. Ivory Coast. On Sunday the fest starts with a morning get-together at 10:30 a.m. Great entertainment is guaranteed by the duo “XXL-STEIRER”. They perform golden oldies, German Schlager, folk music as well as rock and pop songs. Family activities are provided from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event ends at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Delicious food and beverages are available throughout the festival weekend. Free admission on all three days!

Sunday, June 21:

Culinary Hiking Tour around Heimkirchen

The circular path of 5.5 km (3.4 miles) leading through the fields and green meadows of Heimkirchen offers wonderful views. Along the signposted trail, beverages and a large variety of local culinary specialties are provided at 8 resting places. In addition to culinary delights, the various stations offer numerous attractions for the whole family. Visitors can explore the forest and wildlife education center, learn interesting facts during an herb walk, and gain insights into chainsaw works. Along the trail hikers can visit the Farm Museum at Holbornerhof, where ancient equipment and tools give a great insight into what the farmers’ lives looked like. Another attraction that people can see along the route is the sundial consisting of 12 obelisks. Explore the scenic landscape while enjoying the Palatinate cuisine. The hike takes place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Free participation! Sunday, June 21:

Car-free Sunday between Landstuhl and Thaleischweiler-Fröschen

This is a biking event for the whole family. The 23 km (14 miles) long trail between the city of Landstuhl and the village of Thaleischweiler-Fröschen leads through the beautiful scenery of the Wallhalbtal and will be closed to motorized traffic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The idyllic Wallhalbtal is also a popular hiking region with several well-signposted hiking trails. Food and drinks are offered at several stops along the trail set up by local clubs. The 13 historic mills along the route invite cyclists to stop for a rest as well. Children can enjoy pony rides, a bouncy castle, a donkey enclosure, as well as a children’s road track and an adventure playground. Participants can get to the event by train via Landstuhl, Thaleischweiler-Fröschen and Pirmasens/Nord.
