Family Day in Landstuhl

The “Family Day” event provides a varied offer of information, attractions and join-in activities for children, youths, and families. The event takes place inside and around the civic center “Stadthalle” from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Institutions, organizations, and associations from Kaiserslautern County present themselves with information booths. For children and youths, a game and activity program provides lots of options to participate: street soccer, archery and air rifle shooting, gymnastics, dancing and raffles and much more will be available. Additionally, musical entertainment and culinary delicacies are offered. You and your family are cordially invited to come by and spend a fantastic time. Free admission!

Weekly Fruit and Vegetable Market in Kaiserslautern

Weekly markets have been held around the Kaiserslautern Collegiate Church for hundreds of years. A photo from 1929 shows the weekly market on Stiftsplatz (market square), where it has been held since the mid-19th century to the present day. The weekly market takes place every Tuesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Kaiserslautern´s Stiftsplatz. Fresh and organic groceries such as fruits, vegetables, cheese, fish, meat and sausage products can be purchased. Baked goods as well as flowers and plants are available. Visitors are invited to browse around and experience the lovely atmosphere.

Sunday, June 30:

Open Garden Doors in Otterberg and the local Region

The sun is shining, the nature smells of roses and summer and there's a gentle breeze! Then it's time for the “Open Garden Doors” event. Numerous garden owners from the Union Community of Bad Kreuznach, Lauterecken-Wolfstein, Nahe-Glan, Nordpfälzer Land and Otterbach-Otterberg open their garden doors to visitors. Gardeners have the opportunity to present the "fruits of their labor" to guests and to share their green oases with others at least once a year. The public is invited to show up at the participating gardens and explore them without reservation. The private gardens are only open on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., unless additional dates are specified. Free admission!

Saturday, June 29 – Sunday, June 23:

675th Anniversary of Kottweiler-Schwanden

This weekend the village of Kottweiler-Schwanden will celebrate its 675th anniversary with a varied and entertaining program: Live music, presentations on stage and a large offer of food and drinks including local Palatinate specialties like “Dampfnudeln” and potato pancakes will be offered around the community center and Sulzbachhalle. The children´s program includes face painting, Viking chess, a bouncy castle and goal wall shooting. Join-in activities for the young and old like a flower workshop (Sat & Sun 3 – 5 p.m.) and a workshop for crafting and playing your own instrument (Sat 2 – 6 p.m.) will be available. The festivities start Saturday at 2 p.m. with the tapping of the beer keg. Saturday evening from 9 p.m. the popular party band HABACHTALER will perform on stage. Admission to the concert is free! Sunday morning from 10 a.m. the festival weekend continues with a church service. The festival program ends Sunday evening at approx. 6 p.m. The community of Kottweiler-Schwanden is looking forward to welcoming you!
