Friday, July 7 – Saturday, July 8:

Italian Nights in Kusel

The Italian Nights with traditional Italian specialties and Italian live music will make you feel like being on a vacation in Italy. The opening of the event takes place at 6 p.m. Friday from 6.30 p.m. the band Casuellas will be performing on an open-air stage in the town center of Kusel. From 8 p.m. the band Vulcano entertains the audience. Its repertoire includes popular songs by Eros Ramazotti, Umberto Tozzi, Zucchero, Adriano Celentano and others. Many stores in the center of Kusel will remain open until 10 p.m. on Friday for late-night shopping. Saturday the booths offering food and drinks will open at 6 p.m. The stage entertainment with live music starts at 8 p.m. The band Tutto Musica will be performing popular Italian hits. Free admission! Enjoy the Italian atmosphere in Kusel!

Opening of the DCR Exhibition: The Air Base in Pop Culture

Saturday, July 8 the Docu Center Ramstein will open its new exhibition titled “Ram(m)stein, Ramones & Lois Lane - The Air Base in Pop Culture”. Hollywood movies, TV series, video games, literature or music: In the course of its history, the presence of the US military in our region made its appearance in many branches of the popular media. In addition to Ramstein Air Base, numerous other locations in Rhineland-Palatinate have had their very own moment in the spotlight. The exhibition takes a look at plots, lyrics and games, through which military installations become part of the so-called pop culture. The opening of the exhibition takes place Saturday at 2 p.m. The special exhibition will be showing until November 11, 2023. It can be visited on the DCR premises daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (except Mondays). Admission is free!

Saturday, July 8:

64th Miesau Horse Race

The Miesau Horseback Riding Club hosts a horse race event on July 8. Start of the races is at 3 p.m. Six different thoroughbred horse races and 2 sulky races are planned. The prize money ranges from € 2,500 to € 5,000. One race will be titled PRIZE OF BRUCHMUEHLBACH-MIESAU and GERMAN-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP. Spectators have the opportunity to place bets. Admission fee is € 5 for adults. Children up to the age of 16 have free entrance. The racetrack leads along the country road L356 in between the villages of Hütschenhausen and Miesau. Food and beverages are available.
