The Kaiserslautern City Management organizes the annual city festival in Kaiserslautern called Altstadtfest. Around 150,000 visitors enjoy this colorful mixture of entertainment, culture and culinary delights every year on the first weekend in July. With live music on 6 open-air stages the historic city center turns into a huge event mile. The entertainment program ranges from rock music via soul through to blues. Furthermore the program includes street theater and presentations of arts and crafts. Throughout the old part of town, 70 vendors offer a wide range of merchandise such as leather goods, jewelry and much more. A flea market is held on Kanalstrasse and a medieval market takes place on Klosterstrasse. Culinary specialties and beverages are available as well. The festival takes place on Friday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Address: Steinstrasse, 67655 Kaiserslautern
Experience history and culture of Kaiserslautern in a lively way! The tour starts with a visit of the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards the tour continues through the underground passages. These tunnels are approx. 70 meters long. The passages are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating Kaiserslautern in ancient times. The tour starts at 11.15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. On the first Saturday in July, the beekeepers' association of Bruchmühlbach/Hütschenhausen will once again be holding its traditional bee festival. The event is held in the bee meadow above Ritthaler tree nursery in Hütschenhausen (follow the sign Baumschule Ritthaler) and starts at 11 a.m. A great entertainment program including a raffle is offered. Children can enjoy various activities such as games or crafting. Delicious food such as Schwenkbraten (grilled pork meat), bratwurst, French fries and homemade noodle salad is available. Cool beverages and a cake buffet are provided too. Experience a cozy get-together. Visitors can purchase honey as well as honey and wax products. Furthermore, they are invited to take a look at the beehive and get interesting information about bees and honey from the local beekeepers. Free admission!

Throughout the summer months the civic center “Stadthalle” hosts an event series titled “Summer in the City” with live music performances of different live bands. The events take place on an open-air stage in front of "Stadthalle" on Saturday evenings. The event series starts with the performance of the band “KIM” on Saturday, 6 July 2024. The musicians entertain the audience with world-famous cover songs from rock, pop & soul. Admittance is at 6 p.m. The band performs from 7 to 10 p.m. In case of bad weather the events will take place inside “Stadthalle”. Schweigen-Rechtenbach is quaint village at the southern part of the German Wine Street next to the border of France. It is a German-French wine event with a large selection of wines from local winegrowers and neighboring Alsace. A circular path leads through the beautiful “Sonnenberg” vineyard, where hikers have a magnificent view over the Rhine plain and neighboring Wissembourg. Along the loop trail gourmet stops offer culinary delights. Participants can enjoy wine, region and nature. The booths along the trail open from 2 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. on Sunday. Parking spaces will be signposted.
