Friday, August 5 – Monday, August 8:
On your way to the castle ruin, you first stroll through the medieval alleys of Neuleiningen, past the town wall, the pilgrimage church and well-preserved half-timbered houses. The castle is the perfect venue for such an event. Many tables, benches, seats and sunshades create a welcoming atmosphere. The stage program including live jazz music, pop songs and Latin rhythms entertains the visitors. Local food, beverages and good wine are offered. The festival starts on Friday at 6:30 p.m., on Saturday at 5 p.m., on Sunday at noon and on Monday at 6 p.m. Free entrance!

Friday, August 5:
Each Friday evening in August the series of the “Ramstein Summer Nights” takes place on the open-air stage in front of the Congress Center Ramstein next to the Ramstein bus station. The event series starts with the band “Impact”. Six experienced musicians from the Saar-Palatinate region always know how to thrill their audience with a varied cover program including pop, rock, metal and Schlager songs. Their wide-ranging repertoire with German and English titles features classics of the 80s and hits from the 90s, as well as current charts and appeals to all age groups. The “Ramstein Summer Nights” events are standing concerts. There are a very few non-reservable seats and bar tables available. The restaurant “Die Bühne-Backstage” serves food and beverages. Friday, August 5 – Sunday, August 7:
The medieval market is held on the premises of the game park in Freisen and features large knight and Viking camps. The young and the old are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. The entertainment program includes show fights as well as performances of jugglers, wizards and medieval musicians with drums and bagpipes. An animation program for children is provided as well. Visitors can look over the craftsmen´s shoulder presenting ancient handicraft. Traders offer a wide range of goods for sale. A great choice of medieval specialties and beverages is available, too. The market takes place on Friday from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m. until midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Entrance fee is € 10 for adults and € 5 for children. Every first weekend in August the “Archway Festival” is held in the historic village center of Göllheim. The festival traditionally starts with music performances. Many artists and craftsmen of the region display their works. An entertainment program for children guarantees great fun. Food and beverage are offered by local clubs and associations. Admission free!

Friday, August 5 – Monday, August 8:
It is a long tradition that the St. Martin wine festival is held on first Sunday in August. Nowadays, the wine fest takes place from Friday until Monday. The young and old visitors are invited to stroll through the ancient alleys and enjoy the romantic atmosphere. Local restaurants and caterers offer beverages and Palatinate food. Besides culinary highlights, excellent products of the vintners are sold in their yards. A large variety of St. Martin´s selected wines is available there. Live music is provided for all age groups. A flea market is held on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Saturday, August 6:
The Tourist Information Kaiserslautern offers a guided tour through the Count Palatinate Hall with the subterranean tunnels. The tour will take you to the history and culture of the ancient times of “K-town”. It starts with a visit of the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards you descend to the subterranean tunnels. These passages are approx. 70 meters long. The tunnels are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating the history of Kaiserslautern. The tour starts at 11.15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting Point for the tour is the Tourist Information (Address: Fruchthallstrasse 14, 67655 Kaiserslautern). Participation fee is € 5 for adults, the reduced fee is € 4. Prior registration is required. Sunday, August 7:
The landmark of the city of Zweibrücken is the Rose Garden with more than 45,000 roses blooming there. Visitors can enjoy a nice walk through the Rose Garden including varied areas, a pond and a playground. On Sunday, August 7 you can participate in a “Picnic in the Park” with musical entertainment by the band “Frankfurt Jazz Trio”. They will be performing jazz classics. The music program starts at 11 a.m. Just bring along your picnic basket and blanket and make yourself comfortable on the picnic lawn! The garden is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is € 4.50 for adults and € 1.50 for children aged 6 to 17 years; children younger than 6 years have free admission.
