Friday, August 4:

Ramstein Summer Nights - Palatinate Night

From July 21 until August 25 every Friday from 7 p.m. the “Ramstein Summer Nights” take place on an open-air stage at Congress Center Ramstein. Each theme night has the focus on a certain country with traditional music, food, and drinks. The series of the “Ramstein Summer Nights” continues with the "Palatinate Night" on Friday, August 4. The local band "Dubbeglasbrieder” entertains the audience with songs in Palatinate dialect. Specialties from the Palatinate region are offered by the restaurant “Die Bühne-Backstage”. Enjoy the international flair in Ramstein. Free admission!

Friday, August 4 - Sunday, August 6:

Medieval Market in Freisen

The medieval market is held on the premises of the game park in Freisen and features large knight and Viking camps. The young and the old are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. The entertainment program includes exhibition fights, a spectacular horse show, walking acts, as well as music and dance performances. An animation program for children is provided as well. Visitors can look over the craftsmen´s shoulders presenting ancient handicraft. Traders offer a wide range of goods for sale. A great choice of medieval specialties and beverages is available, too. The market takes place on Friday from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m. until midnight and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Entrance fee is € 12 for adults and € 5 for children. Family ticket is available at the price of € 25. Medieval dressed people pay € 10. Enough parking spaces available.

Friday, August 4 - Sunday, August 6:

Schlabbeflicker Festival in Pirmasens

For more than 200 years Pirmasens has been the hometown of footwear and footwear manufacturing. Over 100 shoe factories were once located there. Even today, many shoe stores invite people to shop and stroll around. Schlabbeflicker is an expression for a shoemaker in Palatinate dialect. The festival is a great opportunity to combine the visit to Pirmasens with shopping. The event offers worth seeing art performances, join-in activities, and live music on three spots in the town center. 12 bands, duos, and soloists, three DJs and a gospel choir will put the visitors into the right mood. A children´s entertainment program is offered along Bahnhofstrasse. The official opening is on Friday at 7.30 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday the festival starts already at 11 a.m. Stores open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. A free bus shuttle will be running to the Pirmasens shoe outlets. The shoe museum can be visited from Tuesday through Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Saturday, August 5:

English Guided Tour in Kaiserslautern

The Tourist Information Kaiserslautern offers a guided tour through the Count Palatinate Hall with the subterranean tunnels. The tour will take you to the history and culture of the ancient times of “K-town”. It starts with a visit of the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards you descend to the subterranean tunnels. These passages are approx. 70 meters long. The tunnels are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating the history of Kaiserslautern. The tour starts at 11.15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting Point for the tour is the Tourist Information in Kaiserslautern. Participation fee is € 5 for adults, discounted tickets are € 4.
