Kusel Fair
The official opening of the fair starts with the tapping of the beer keg at 8.30 p.m on Friday. Young and old visitors can enjoy carnival rides and attractions on the funfair. A large number of booths offer candy, food and beverages as well as various other products and items. Musical entertainment is presented by different bands each day. On Saturday at 3 p.m. a big festival parade leads through the city center of Kusel. In the festival tent a brass concert puts the audience in the right mood for the Sunday morning get-together at 11.30 a.m. Stores are open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. On Monday visitors gather again in the festival tent for the traditional pre-lunch drink from 11 a.m. Tuesday is family day with reduced prices for the fun rides. The fair ends with fireworks display on Tuesday at approx. 9.30 p.m.

Yeast Dumpling Fest (Dampfnudelfest) in Steinwenden
The Yeast Dumpling Fest takes place around Steinwenden´s landmark, the “Römerturm tower”, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Steamed yeast dumplings served with wine or vanilla sauce are a traditional Palatinate specialty. Patrons of the Ramstein-Miesenbach museum again prepare hundreds of these dumplings for the visitors. Cakes and pies, beverages, wine and sparkling wine from the German Wine Street, and sausage dishes are available, too. A coffee bike offers coffee specialties. Solo entertainer “Matthias” will be responsible for the live music program. Free admission!

Opening of the DCR Exhibition: “Aufgeklappt und abgestempelt“ – Behind the Scenes
The Docu Center Ramstein opens its new exhibition titled “Aufgeklappt und abgestempelt“ - Behind the Scenes. Explore the history of US Americans and Germans in Rhineland-Palatinate with the DCR’s growing collection! For over 15 years, the DCR has inventoried around 4,000 objects and photos, including print media, photos, and three-dimensional artifacts. Each item telling a different story, some reveal personal experiences, while others highlight political and global events. Standout pieces have captivated visitors and been requested by other museums. Many items, however, have remained in storage - until now. Join the DCR for a special exhibition where these hidden treasures are showcased. Plus, take part in a behind-the-scenes tour for a look at the DCR’s cataloging and inventorying process. The opening of the exhibition starts on Saturday at 2 p.m. and will be on display until November 10, 2024. It can be visited on the DCR premises daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (except Mondays). Admission is free!

Open House at Ramstein Fire Department
The Ramstein fire department cordially invites you to its open house event starting 10 a.m. Since 1867 the fire department is on duty and safes people´s life within the Union Community of Ramstein-Miesenbach. Hands-on experiences such as operating a fire nozzle, a fire extinguisher and a hydraulic rescue cutter are offered and guarantee great practice for the whole family. Furthermore, the entertainment program includes guided tours through the fire station as well as a tool, equipment, and a fire truck exhibition. A special program for children is provided as well. Food, beverages, coffee, and cakes are available. Free admission!
