Miesenbach Funfair

Miesenbach celebrates its annual funfair with a great program organized by the association “Miesenbacher Ereignis- & Traditionsverein”. The fairground is located next to the sports field. Visitors can look forward to musical entertainment, fun rides for children, candy, coffee and cakes, food and beverages. On Friday the program starts at 8 p.m. The party and rock band “IMPACT” performs from 9 p.m. On Saturday the funfair begins at 2 p.m. The rock and pop cover band “THE BASEMENT” entertains the visitors from 9 p.m. On Sunday morning an ecumenical church service takes place at 11 a.m. A funny public speech in Palatinate dialect (the so-called “Kerweredd”), reporting on happenings of the past year, is held at 3 p.m. On Monday the celebrations start at 10 a.m. with a morning get-together for a drink. The band “PARTBAND SUNRISE” performs live music from 4 p.m. Free admission!

Saturday, August 29:

Yeast Dumpling Fest (Dampfnudelfest) in Steinwenden

Once again, the association “Förderkreis Heimatmuseum der VG Ramstein-Miesenbach” hosts its traditional and popular Yeast Dumpling Fest. It takes place at Steinwenden´s landmark “Römerturm”, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. People can enjoy steamed yeast dumplings served with wine or vanilla sauce that are a traditional Palatinate specialty. Home-made dishes such as potato soup, cheese and sausage sandwiches are offered too. Also, cakes, pies, freshly baked waffles as well as beverages, freshly tapped beer and different wines are available. Visitors are invited to browse through the little book bazaar that is held additionally. Live musical entertainment is provided by solo singer Matthias. Free admission!

Garden Market in Rockenhausen

Gardening enthusiasts, hobby gardeners, or simply lovers of beautiful things can look forward to the 10th edition of the popular garden market called “GartenZeit”. The idyllic Schlosspark of Rockenhausen is entirely dedicated to garden culture from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can draw inspiration from the blooming perennial plants, floral arrangements, and creative accessories for their own gardens. Passionate gardeners have a wide variety of flowering shrubs, grasses, ornamental plants and fruit trees of nursery-quality. Handmade art pieces, ceramics, and high-quality home textiles are offered too. Experts give advice on planting locations and care. In addition, informative specialized literature is available on site. A basket weaver demonstrates his skills live, the city library hosts a book bazaar, and the North Palatinate Photo Club presents an exhibition of impressive nature photographs. Numerous food stands spoil people with specialties like tarte flambée, focaccia, country-style cakes, waffles, and French toast, as well as regional wines and cocktails. Activities for children are provided too. Visitors are invited to explore Rockenhausen’s old town, museums, and shops, or simply enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the Schlosspark while sitting on one of the cozy benches and listening to the carillon.
