Friday, September 16 – Tuesday, September 20:

Ramstein Funfair

The traditional Ramstein funfair is hosted on the third weekend in September each year. Ramstein’s market square turns into a big fairground. The funfair features fun rides and booths offering candies, as well as food, beverages, and musical entertainment. Amusement rides open from 6 p.m. on Friday. At 8.30 p.m. the youngsters of the town – the “Ramstein Straußjugend” - meet at the fairground to start the fair with a joyful get-together for the first mug of beer. On Saturday the fairground opens at 2 p.m. The mayor of Ramstein, Ralf Hechler, will officially open the fair by tapping the beer keg at 7.30 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled for 9.30 p.m. On Sunday the traditional raising of the fair pole takes place in front of the Ramstein museum (on Miesenbacher Strasse 1) at 3 p.m. On Monday visitors gather from 10 a.m. for pre-lunch drink at the various restaurants in town. The family day on Tuesday features special discounts. The festival ends with the “funeral procession” by the “Ramstein Straußjugend” on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m.

Saturday, September 17 – Sunday, September 18:

Mineral & Fossil Swap in Imsbach

The motto of the exhibition is INFORMATION - SWAPPING - PURCHASING. At more than 60 exhibition tables visitors can marvel at treasures from a world before present. Some of the collectors present finds from the region around the Donnersberg, other exhibitors display minerals and fossils from all over the world. The event takes place at the community center in Imsbach (Gemeindehalle). The opening hours of the exhibition are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is € 1.50 for adults and € 1 for youths until 18 years. Children from 6 to 14 years only pay € 0.50. Family tickets cost € 4 and are valid for 2 adults and up to 3 children. Additionally the Imsbach mine (“Mine Maria”) as well as the mining museum can be visited. A combo-ticket includes the entrance to the swap, to the mine and to the mining museum as well as free tram rides from the exhibition hall to the mine. The combo-ticket for adults is € 6.50 and for children € 4.50. For further information please call at +49 6352-1712.

Saturday, September 17:

Rock ‘n’ Roll, Cars and Wine in Hochspeyer

The association “Aktiv für Hochspeyer e.V.” will host an event at the Hochspeyer pool with the motto Rock ‘n’ Roll, Cars and Wine. The event starts at 4 p.m. Besides Palatinate wines, cocktails, and other culinary delights grilled specialties will be available. A car exhibition with free admission is located outside the pool premises at the parking lot. It is organized by the associations “BMW Club TNNC“ and “K-Town Rebel Cruisers”. They will present classic cars and fun cars. The stage entertainment program will start with a performance of the American guitarist Miguel Mendoza at 4 p.m. Afterwards the piano man “Steini” will entertain the guests. From 7 p.m. the popular rockabilly band “The Spikes” will perform live on stage. Admission is € 7. For pre-sale tickets please contact anja.klingenberg72@yahoo.com
