Friday, September 29 – Saturday, September 30:

Moon Festival (TSUKIMI) at Japanese Garden Kaiserslautern

Experience the Japanese festival held in honor of the autumn moon and the good harvest in the Japanese Garden Kaiserslautern with atmospheric illumination from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night. The TAIKO drumming group performs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. TAIKO is a centuries-old tradition of Japanese drumming. The entertainment program continues with a show of fire-dancers at 9 p.m. Vocal performance accompanied by violin and “dragon flute” is presented at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The fire-dancers entertain the visitors from 9 p.m. Admission tickets are € 6.50 and discounted tickets are € 5.50.

Saturday, September 30 – Sunday, October 1:

Potato Market in Wallhalben

In Wallhalben the potato market (Sickinger Grumbeere Markt) takes place every other year. It starts with music performances of the Bann fanfare band at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The popular market includes an arts and crafts market, a farmers´ market, medieval activities, a classical tractor exhibition and a lot more. On both days the market features musical entertainment and a children´s program. Visitors can enjoy traditional dishes based on original grandma´s recipes. Throughout the village a large variety of potato specialties, Palatinate delicacies, beverages, wine, cocktails, waffles, coffee and cakes and much more is offered. The rural atmosphere brings back memories of almost forgotten days of childhood. On Sunday the potato market starts at 11 a.m. Visitors are also invited to stop by the Pharmacy Museum on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday, October 1:

25th Ramstein Farmers` Market

This year the Ramstein farmers´ market is taking place for the 25th time. Various exhibitors present rural traditions and lifestyle as well as arts and crafts. A church service is held at the Congress Center Ramstein (CCR) at 10:30 a.m. Harvest-fresh products such as apples, vegetables, pumpkins and sweet corn from the local area can be purchased. Additionally, a large choice of meat and sausage products, handmade cheese, liquors, bread, oils, marmalades and much more are available. Decoration items, gift articles etc. are presented, too. Visitors can watch demonstrations of an ancient spinning wheel. Live animals are exhibited throughout the market square. The children´s program includes face painting, pumpkin carving, donkey riding and a wheel of fortune. Musical entertainment is provided as well. Local specialties and beverages invite the guests to stay and linger. Market hours are from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Ramstein´s stores are open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The city of Ramstein as well as local vendors and exhibitors are looking forward to welcoming you!
