Car-free Eistal - Biking Event
Every year this biking event takes place on October 3 which is the German Unification Day. The road L395 between Ramsen and Obrigheim leading through the Eistal valley is closed to motorized traffic from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cyclists, hikers and in-line skaters are very welcome to experience an entertaining program along the 20 km (12 miles) long route. Clubs, tradesmen, municipalities and private individuals present themselves with numerous stands. A large selection of national and international food and beverages is available. Many join-in activities are offered for the young and the old. DJ performances and live music are provided too. It´s a great event for the whole family!

Medieval Market in Kaiserslautern
The medieval market is held at Gelterswoog Lake in Kaiserslautern and features a large knight camp. The young and the old are invited to experience history first-hand, as the clocks will be turned back to the Middle Ages. The entertainment program includes show fights, performances of jugglers, medieval music, a knight tournament and a spectacular fire show. An animation program for children is provided as well. Visitors can watch presentations of arts and crafts. Traders offer a wide range of goods for sale. A great choice of food and beverages is available too. The medieval market takes place on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Admission fee is € 8 for adults and € 5 for children and medieval dressed people. Parking spaces are available next to Gelterswoog Lake.

Art Exhibition at the Hütschenhausen Bürgerhaus
The art association “Freunde der Malerei - Westpfalz e.V.“ presents an arts exhibition at the community center of Hütschenhausen (Bürgerhaus). The association exists for more than 40 years now and already hosted numerous exhibitions. In cooperation with the state program “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz” the club keeps organizing the popular “Paint and Wine” event for American participants. In Hütschenhausen 20 artists display their works of art. Different techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, and many others are shown. The official opening is on Saturday at 4 p.m. Mayor Achim Wätzold welcomes the guests. Afterwards, the first chairman of the art association, Jürgen Knies-Boulesteix, introduces the exhibition and some artists explain their works. The exhibition can be visited on Saturday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Free admission!

Potato Market in Wallhalben
Every other year the popular potato market (Sickinger Grumbeere Markt) takes place in Wallhalben. On Saturday it starts with music performances of the Bann fanfare corps at 1 p.m. On Sunday the potato market starts at 10:30 a.m. Herbs, liquors, vinegar, honey, bee products, choice of cheese and sausages, but also jewelry, leather bags, hand-knitted accessories, decoration and wooden items are offered for sale. On both days the event features musical entertainment, a children´s program and a flea market for books. Visitors can enjoy traditional dishes based on original grandma´s recipe. Throughout the village a large variety of potato specialties, Palatinate delicacies, waffles, desserts, beverages and coffee and much more is offered. The rural atmosphere brings back memories of almost forgotten days of childhood. Visitors are also invited to stop by the Pharmacy Museum which is open on Saturday and Sunday.

Ramstein Farmers’ Market
This year the traditional farmers` market features approx. 50 exhibitors presenting ancient traditions, craftsmanship and agricultural products in the city center of Ramstein. Harvest-fresh apples, vegetables, pumpkins and sweet corn from the local area can be purchased. A large choice of fish specialties, meat and sausage products, handmade cheese, woodstove-baked bread, herbs, coffee, liquors, oils, marmalades and much more is available. Decoration items, gift articles, soaps, pottery, enamelware etc. are offered, too. Visitors can watch demonstrations of a rope twister (ropery). An exhibition of agricultural machinery can be visited, too. The children´s program includes face painting, stone painting and donkey riding. Kids also can pet animals such as hens and rabbits. People are invited to participate in games such as the wheel of fortune, a riddle and sensory course. Furthermore, people can enjoy local specialties and beverages as well as coffee and cakes. Musical entertainment invites the guests to linger. The farmers´ market takes place from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The ecumenical church service at (CCR) Congress Center Ramstein starts at 10:30 a.m. Ramstein´s stores open for Sunday shopping from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. The city of Ramstein as well as local vendors and exhibitors are looking forward to welcoming you!
