Sister Soul – The Musical – at Congress Center Ramstein
With gospel and soul classics like "Son of a Preacher Man", "Caravan of Love" or "Hallelujah" this heavenly musical will make you swing. Also enjoy big hits such as "I will follow him", "My guy" and many others from the award-winning movie comedy "Sister Act" with Whoopy Goldberg. Friday, October 14 – Monday, October 24:
Kaiserslautern October Fair
The Kaiserslautern fair is the biggest folk festival in Western Palatinate. Annually, the fairground offers a large variety of rides for children and adults and allures many visitors to Kaiserslautern´s Messeplatz. Enjoy the huge fun mile featuring a giant Ferris wheel, merry-go-rounds, bumper car ride and many others. Numerous vendors provide culinary specialties, candies, products of arts and crafts, spices, household articles and a lot more. The fair starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 14. On Sunday, October 16 stores open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 19 is Family Day with special offers and prices for carnival rides. Fun rides open daily from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m., on Saturdays from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. A closing fireworks display takes place on Monday, October 24 at 9 p.m.

Saturday, October 15:
Intercultural Breakfast at Congress Center Ramstein
The Ramstein Youth Office organizes an “Intercultural Breakfast” at the CCR from 10 a.m. until 12.30 p.m. Families and individuals, no matter from which country, are cordially invited to join this intercultural meeting, in order to have breakfast together and to get to know each other. Games are offered for children. A varied stage program is provided, too. Participants are welcome to make a contribution to the breakfast by bringing a typical treat or specialty of their country. Contributions to the stage program, e.g. a traditional song or dance performance of your country of origin, are welcome as well. Registration is required. Saturday, October 15 – Sunday, October 16:
Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Gerhardsbrunn
October is the month of harvest season at the Guhl Farm in Gerhardsbrunn also known as Sunshine Pumpkin Farm. You are cordially invited to pick pumpkins of your choice at the pumpkin patch that opens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October. There are 40 kinds of pumpkins available. Pumpkin cake and grilled sausages are offered, too. Another attraction is the corn maze that is accessible from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in October. Admission to the corn maze is € 3.50 for kids (aged 5 -14) and € 4 for adults. Children up to 4 years have free admission. The farm store, offering pumpkins and various other farm products for sale, regularly opens from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays plus every Saturday and Sunday in October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to the current situation, the farm can be explored by self-guided tours only. Pumpkin Exhibition at Kaiserslautern Gartenschau
The Kaiserslautern Gartenschau is a great meeting place for the young and the old to spend time together in almost every season. Life-sized dinosaur figures are the children´s highlight. The flower park is decorated with thousands of colorful pumpkins in fall. This year´s “World of Music” pumpkin exhibition can be visited from September 1st until October 31st. Thirteen figures made of approx. 40,000 pumpkins represent various facets on the subject of music. Some of the figures are up to 4 meters high. Visitors can marvel at characters such as ballerina, Mozart or Elvis Presley as well as at a gramophone etc. The Gartenschau is daily open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until October 31st. Admission is € 7 for adults, € 5 for students aged 16 to 25 years and € 3.50 for children aged 6 to 16 years. Kids younger than 6 years have free admission. Dogs are not allowed in the flower park.
