Saturday, October 12 – Sunday, October 13:

Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Gerhardsbrunn

October is the month of harvest season at Guhl Farm in Gerhardsbrunn also known as Sunshine Pumpkin Farm. You are cordially invited to pick pumpkins of your choice at the pumpkin patch that opens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October. There are more than 40 kinds of pumpkins available. Home-made pumpkin and chocolate cake is offered, too. Another attraction is the corn maze that is accessible from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in October. Admission to the corn maze is € 3.50 for kids (aged 5 -14) and € 4 for adults. Children up to 4 years have free admission. The farm store, offering pumpkins and various other farm products for sale, opens on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For further information please visit the website: https://www.bauernhof-guhl.de/english/

Guided City Tour of Kaiserslautern in English

The walking-tour in the downtown area highlights interesting historical and present-day facts about the more than 750-year-old Barbarossa city. Please note that the tour does not include the underground tunnels. The tour starts at 11.30 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting Point for the tour is the Tourist Information (address: Fruchthallstrasse 14, 67655 Kaiserslautern). Participation fee is € 7 for adults; the reduced fee is € 6. Pumpkin Exhibition at Kaiserslautern Gartenschau

The Kaiserslautern Gartenschau is a great meeting place for the whole family to spend time together in almost every season of the year. Life-sized dinosaur figures are the children´s highlight. Thousands of colorful pumpkins decorate the flower park in fall. The motto of this year's exhibition is “Jungle” and can be visited from September 1st until October 31st. Different figures made of pumpkins create a jungle atmosphere. Visitors get to see animal figures such as chameleon or parrot but also “The Jungle Book” characters such as "Mowgli" and "Baloo". Until October 31st the Gartenschau is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Admission is € 8 for adults, € 6 for students aged 18 to 25 years and € 4 for children aged 6 to 17 years. Kids younger than 6 years have free admission.

Monday, October 14:

“Time Travel” – English Tour in Otterberg

Get on the rustic, horse-drawn covered wagon, and travel back in time through the city of Otterberg. The tour combines tradition and modern age. With virtual reality glasses you immerse yourself in days gone by: from the time of the monastery in 1254 to the Walloon town in 1615. Imagine the wind in your face, feel the jerking of the wagon, hear the clattering of the horses' hooves, and feel completely transported back to the past. After the carriage ride, a visit to the stately Otterberg Abbey Church awaits you as part of an English guided tour. Here you learn about the exciting history of the church, and you experience the incomparable atmosphere, live, no longer virtually but the real present-day occurrences. The “Time Travel” tour starts at 2:30 p.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Desired dates for a group of 10 people or more can be arranged upon request. Participation fee is € 45 for adults and € 40 for children and students. Tickets can be booked via following link:
