Intercultural Breakfast at Hütschenhausen Community Center

The Ramstein Youth Office organizes an “Intercultural Breakfast” at the Hütschenhausen community center from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Families and individuals, no matter from which country, are cordially invited to join this intercultural meeting, in order to have breakfast together and to get to know each other. Games are offered for children. A varied stage program is provided, too. Participants are welcome to make a contribution to the breakfast by bringing a typical treat or specialty of their country. Contributions to the stage program, e.g. a traditional song or a dance performance of their country of origin, are welcome as well. Registration is required by October 8. Guided Tour of Kaiserslautern in English

Experience the history and culture of Kaiserslautern in a lively way! The tour starts with a visit to the Count Palatinate Hall of the former Casimir Castle, where official receptions of the city are held today. Afterwards the tour continues through the underground passages. These tunnels are approx. 70 meters long. The passages are equipped with illuminated boards and sound effects illustrating Kaiserslautern in ancient times. The tour starts at 11:15 a.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Meeting Point for the tour is the Tourist Information (address: Fruchthallstrasse 14, 67655 Kaiserslautern). The participation fee is € 7 for adults; the reduced fee is € 6. Pumpkin Festival in Spesbach

The Spesbach “Country Women´s Association” hosts a pumpkin festival on the village square in Spesbach behind the school building. The festival starts at noon. Visitors can look forward to culinary delights and live music. The association sells their homemade pumpkin jelly and traditional pumpkin soup. Food, beverages and many other pumpkin specialties are available too. Pumpkins will be sold as well. Furthermore, the event features a whisky lounge. The entertainment program for children includes a carousel, pumpkin painting and face painting. Exhibitors demonstrate their arts and crafts. Anybody is welcome!

Saturday, October 11 – Sunday, October 12:

Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Gerhardsbrunn

October is the month of harvest season at Guhl Farm in Gerhardsbrunn also known as Sunshine Pumpkin Farm. You are cordially invited to pick pumpkins of your choice at the pumpkin patch that opens every Saturday and Sunday in October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are pumpkins of all kinds available. Home-made pumpkin cake and grilled sausages are offered, too. Another attraction is the corn maze that is accessible on Saturdays and Sundays in October from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission to the corn maze is € 3.50 for kids (aged 5 - 14) and € 4 for adults. Children up to 4 years have free admission.
