Wednesday, October 19:

Army Band of the German Armed Forces at Congress Center Ramstein

The army band of the German Armed Forces called “Heeresmusikkorps” gives a charity concert for the benefit of the care and preservation of 832 German war cemeteries around the world. Enjoy an entertaining program including traditional march music, classical overtures, symphonic brass music as well as modern songs and evergreens. Listen to music that delights us again and again. The “Heeresmusikkorps Koblenz” is an ensemble that is a welcome guest all over the world and enjoys great popularity. The war graves commission “Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e.V.”, the national association “Landesverband Rheinland-Pfalz” and the “Heeresmusikkorp Koblenz” cordially invite you to an outstanding concert evening. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are € 12. Saturday, October 22 - Sunday, October 23:

Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Gerhardsbrunn

October is the month of harvest season at the Guhl Farm in Gerhardsbrunn also known as Sunshine Pumpkin Farm. You are cordially invited to pick pumpkins of your choice at the pumpkin patch that opens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October. There are 40 kinds of pumpkins available. Pumpkin cake and grilled sausages are offered, too. Another attraction is the corn maze that is accessible from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in October. Admission to the corn maze is € 3.50 for kids (aged 5 -14) and € 4 for adults. Children up to 4 years have free admission. The farm store, offering pumpkins and various other farm products for sale, regularly opens from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays plus every Saturday and Sunday in October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to the current situation, the farm can be explored by self-guided tours only. Saturday, October 22:

Wine Hike and Vintage Festival in Waldmohr

A hiking event with the motto “Wine, Hiking & Culture” will take place on Saturday, October 22, in Waldmohr. The event is hosted by the booster club of the fire department and the “Obst- und Gartenbauverein” (garden club). The wine hike starts from 1 p.m. Along the hiking trail there will be two wine booths of Palatinate vintners. Start and finish of the hike is the fire station in Saarpfalzstrasse. The vintage festival of the fire department starts at the fire station at 5 p.m.

Sunday, October 23:

Ramstein Wendelinus Market and Oktoberfest

In honor of Saint Wendelinus the church parish of Ramstein celebrated the “Wendelinus Market” in 1710 for the first time. The patron saint answered the prayers of the locals and protected their livestock against epizootic disease. The market was revived in 1986. Today the market features about 40 exhibitors offering a large variety of goods such as gift and decoration items, wood carving, leatherwork, jewelry, children´s clothing, crochet work, scarves, and a lot more. A great choice of culinary specialties is available, too. Furthermore, live musical entertainment is presented on the market square from 12 p.m. The opening ceremony and a church service are held inside the festival tent at 11:30 a.m. Visitors can bring their pets along to have them blessed. Market hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Inside the Oktoberfest tent the brass band “GPS” performs from 11 a.m. Food and beverages as well as Bavarian specialties will be available in the festival tent from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Furthermore, the Ramstein stores are open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Pumpkin Exhibition at Kaiserslautern Gartenschau

The Kaiserslautern Gartenschau is a great meeting place for the young and the old to spend time together in almost every season. Life-sized dinosaur figures are the children´s highlight. The flower park is decorated with thousands of colorful pumpkins in fall. This year´s “World of Music” pumpkin exhibition can be visited from September 1st until October 31st. Thirteen figures made of approx. 40,000 pumpkins represent various facets on the subject of music. Some of the figures are up to 4 meters high. Visitors can marvel at characters such as ballerina, Mozart or Elvis Presley as well as at a gramophone etc. The Gartenschau is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until October 31st. Admission is € 7 for adults, € 5 for students aged 16 to 25 years and € 3.50 for children aged 6 to 16 years. Kids younger than 6 years have free admission. Dogs are not allowed in the flower park.
