Kaiserslautern October Fair
The Kaiserslautern fair has the reputation of being the biggest folk festival in Western Palatinate. Annually, the fairground offering a large variety of rides for children and adults allures many people to Kaiserslautern´s Messeplatz. Visitors can enjoy a huge fun mile featuring a roller coaster, a giant Ferris wheel, merry-go-rounds and many other fun rides. A large number of vendors provide culinary specialties, candies, products of arts and crafts, spices, household articles and much more. The opening fireworks display illuminates the fairground at approx. 9 p.m. Stores open for Sunday shopping in the industrial area and Kaiserslautern city center on Sunday, October 19 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Monday, October 20, for the first time the 1.FCK Day is held at the October fair. On this day, anyone wearing a jersey of the local soccer club 1.FCK receives discounts at numerous stands and even for funfair rides. Fans can look forward to a fan merchandise stand. Wednesday, October 22, is family day including reduced prices for fun rides, many other special offers and entertainment such as a balloon artist and face painting for children. On the opening day, October 17, the fair opens from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays the opening hours are from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. All other weekdays the fair opens from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. A closing fireworks display takes place around 9 p.m. on Monday, October 27

“Time Travel” – English Tour in Otterberg
Get on the rustic, horse-drawn covered wagon, and travel back in time through the city of Otterberg. The tour combines tradition and the modern age. With virtual reality glasses you immerse yourself in days gone by: from the time of the monastery in 1254 to the Walloon town in 1615. Imagine the wind in your face, feel the jerking of the wagon, hear the clattering of the horses' hooves, and feel completely transported back to the past. After the carriage ride, a visit to the stately Otterberg Abbey Church awaits you as part of an English guided tour. Here you learn about the exciting history of the church, and you experience the incomparable atmosphere, live, no longer virtually but the real present-day occurrences. The “Time Travel” tour starts at 2:30 p.m. and takes approx. 1.5 hours. Desired dates for groups of 9 to max. 12 people can be arranged upon request. Traditional Slaughter Fest of the Fire Department Niedermohr
The volunteer fire department of Niedermohr cordially invites you to its so-called “Schlachtfest” (Slaughter Fest). The festival starts at 6 p.m. and takes place on the grounds of the fire department. Freshly tapped beer and traditional German dishes such as boiled pork, bratwurst, liver dumplings and specialties from freshly slaughtered pigs are offered. The volunteer fire department of Niedermohr is looking forward to welcoming you!

Guided German-American Tour at Königsberg
In the spring of 2025, the union community of Lauterecken-Wolfstein opened the new hiking trail HüttenKulTour. The trail is named after the four cabins located along the trail. At the end of the season the community hosts the final hiking event on Sunday. A guided hiking tour in English and German will be offered. The tour starts at 11 a.m. Participants meet at the Glider Airfield in Essweiler (coordinates: 49° 33′ 44″ N, 7° 34′ 45″ O). The tour has a length of about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles).
