Ramstein Wendelinus Market and Oktoberfest

In honor of Saint Wendelinus the church parish of Ramstein celebrated the “Wendelinus Market” in 1710 for the first time. The patron saint answered the prayers of the locals and protected their livestock against epizootic diseases. The market was revived in 1986. Today the market features about 50 exhibitors offering a large variety of goods such as gift and decoration items, wood carving, leatherwork, jewelry, clothing, crochet work, scarves, and a lot more. A great choice of culinary specialties is available, too. Market hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The opening ceremony and a church service are held inside the Oktoberfest tent from 11:30 a.m. Visitors can bring their pets along to have them blessed. Afterwards, the brass band “GPS” performs there. Food and beverages are offered inside the festival tent. Free entrance to the festival tent! Live musical entertainment is also presented on the market square from 1 p.m. Furthermore, stores open for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
