Exhibition “We love Playmobil” at Historisches Museum Speyer
The beloved toy PLAYMOBIL is celebrating its 50th anniversary. This special birthday is the reason for the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in Speyer to present a unique family exhibition all about the toy figures beloved all over the world: The interactive show “We Love PLAYMOBIL. 50 Jahre Spielgeschichte(n)”, opened its doors in October 2023 and will be showing until September next year. Fascinating dioramas, videos and numerous play stations will enable big and small visitors to the museum to explore miniature PLAYMOBIL worlds on 1,000 square meters. Scenes of current PLAYMOBIL themes, such as “Adventures of Ayuma”, as well as historical themes, which teach history in a fun way, will be on display. These will include scenes of Roman life, ancient Egypt and Samurai in Japan. Projected installations replete with light effects and animations will bring the individual PLAYMOBIL worlds to life. Get on a journey through fifty years of toy history! The exhibition will give you an impression of the virtually unlimited variety of opportunities the toy system opens to its fans. Pre-Christmas Arts & Crafts Market at Congress Center Ramstein
More than 70 crafters and amateur artists present their creative work such as Christmas decoration, arts and crafts or ornaments. They offer a large choice of goods such as jewelry, wood and glass articles, diversified works made of textile and felt, ceramics for home and garden, metal, paper, and many other objects. Visitors have the chance to take a look over the artists` shoulders while they demonstrate their abilities. For example, there will be a presentation how to make hand-dyed yarns on the spinning wheel and a floristry workshop. Additionally, you are invited to participate in a raffle. Proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the hospice care association of Ramstein-Miesenbach. Coffee, cakes, and freshly baked cinnamon waffles are available. The market is open on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Admission free!
