Wednesday, November 12:

Traditional Horse Market in Quirnbach

The traditional horse market has a long history – it has been attracting around 15,000 visitors every year since 1876 – and is one of the most important horse markets in Rheinland-Pfalz. Every year on the second Wednesday in November, the tranquil town of Quirnbach in Western Palatinate turns into a lively meeting place for animal lovers, market visitors, and partygoers from near and far. The market starts early in the morning with the horse show. Experts assess and award prizes to the magnificent animals. At the flea market, numerous booths invite people to stroll, discover, and enjoy. Regional products, handicrafts and culinary delights are offered. A special highlight is the raffle including attractive prizes. Inside the festival tent an exuberant mood is guaranteed. Live music, Palatinate specialties and beverages invite the visitors to linger. The Quirnbach horse market is more than just a market – it is a place where customs, history, conviviality, and rural culture come together. The event is suitable for families and culture lovers who would like to learn about authentic Palatinate experiences in a rural atmosphere. It's well worth a visit – not only for horse fans!

Friday, November 14:

Guided City Tour of Ramstein in English

Explore the town center of Ramstein and hear about the historic development of the former farming village into a modern and international city. You will get to see traces of the past and the oldest buildings in town. Besides that, the tour provides lots of information about present urban development and leisure activities. The event is family-friendly and free of charge! Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to explore the city walking. As a goody, a drink and snack will be offered at the end of the tour. The “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz” state program is the sponsor of the tour. It will be carried out by the “Window to Rheinland-Pfalz” information center of the City of Ramstein-Miesenbach. Friday, November 14 – Saturday, November 15:

Weilerbach Winter World Event

This pre-Christmas event is organized by several local companies of Weilerbach and is held next to the ZEMO butcher's shop. Visitors can look forward to arts and crafts, an Alpine slide and a creative group. On Friday, musical entertainment is provided by the music duo “Un-er-hört” and on Saturday by the Nomadic folk-pop duo “Kindred Sound”. Culinary delights and beverages are offered. On both days, the event starts at 5 p.m. Free admission!

Saturday, November 15 – Sunday, November 16:

Pre-Christmas Arts & Crafts Market at Congress Center Ramstein

More than 75 exhibitors present their creative work such as Christmas decoration, ornaments or arts and crafts. Their offer ranges from jewelry, wood and glass articles, diversified works made of textile and felt, bookbinding, ceramics for home and garden and many other objects. Visitors have the chance to take a look over the artists’ shoulders while they demonstrate their abilities such as hand spinning. The smell of freshly baked cinnamon waffles and the festively decorated stands put visitors in the mood for the coming pre-Christmas season. Coffee and cakes are available. People are invited to participate in a raffle. Proceeds will be donated to the Hospice Care Association of Ramstein-Miesenbach. The market opens on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Admission free!
