Ages ago the “Krammarkt” used to be the traditional Miesenbach cattle market. The market is held at the former schoolhouse in Miesenbach and starts at 8 a.m. Vendors offer a large number of goods and products. Their items range from Christmas cookies, herbs and spices to Advent decoration, leather purses, fashion jewelry, household goods, handicraft, and a lot more. Scarves and caps for the cold season are available as well. Booths will be open all day long. At lunchtime a great offer of dishes such as pea soup, beef served with horse radish, grilled sausages and meatballs etc. are offered inside the heated tent. Each year at Thanksgiving the Ramstein Roadrunners host the traditional “Turkey Trot”. Start and finish is the multi-purpose hall (Mehrzweckhalle) in Miesenbach. Participants have the choice between a trail distance of 5 km and 10 km (approx. 3.1 miles and 6.2 miles). Starting time is from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. All hikers have to return to the starting point by 3 p.m. Registration fee is € 3. Participants will get a start card which is needed for receiving the IVV-stamp. Pre-registration is not required for individual walkers but recommended for hiking groups of more than 25 persons. The community of Kottweiler-Schwanden traditionally celebrates its Christmas market on the first weekend of Advent. The market takes place in front of the Sulzbachhalle community center and has become an integral part in the event calendar of most fellow citizens, far beyond the village borders. A wide range of goods such as handicraft, woodwork from the Erzgebirge region as well as popular Advent decoration, door and Advent wreaths is presented. Visitors can treat themselves to delicious food and seasonal beverages. Another special offer is the raffle with attractive prizes to win. The market starts on Saturday at 3 p.m. At nightfall, children will be surprised by Santa Claus. Throughout the evening musical entertainment is provided by street musicians. On Sunday the Christmas market starts already at 11 a.m. with a church service assisted by the musical society. The organizers and all participating clubs look forward to seeing you! Together with the local clubs the Spesbach “Country Women´s Association” hosts a Christmas market. The market starts Saturday at 2 p.m. The village green behind the elementary school turns into a magic Christmas world including a petting zoo. Culinary delights will be offered, and Santa Claus will visit the market at 6 p.m. and distribute little surprises among children. A Christmas bazaar is held inside the multipurpose hall (Mehrzweckhalle) where visitors can warm up over coffee and cake. Handiwork, decoration items and gift ideas are presented. A flea market is part of the bazaar as well. On Sunday the Christmas bazaar continues inside the multipurpose hall from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. A church service will be held at 10.30 a.m. Furthermore the “Country Women´s Association” offers lunch as well as coffee and cakes.

The St. Andreas Market has a long tradition in Landstuhl during the pre-Christmas season. This year the Christmas market shines in new splendor around Landstuhl´s cultural hall, the Stadthalle. In addition to a wonderful selection of handicraft, gift ideas and Christmas decoration also regional delicacies will be offered. On both days a cultural arts and crafts market is set up inside the Stadthalle. Christmas carols will put the visitors in the right mood for the Advent season. Furthermore, Santa Claus will surprise children with little gifts. On Saturday the market opens from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The medieval Christmas market in and around Lichtenberg Castle is always worth a visit. In front of the magnificent backdrop of the castle, visitors can look forward to a medieval hustle and bustle with numerous booths presenting craftsmanship. Gift ideas and decoration items for the Advent season are available too. The medieval spectacle includes dance and music performances, a nativity scene, archery and crossbow shooting. Furthermore, a children´s program is provided. People can listen to Christmas carols and enjoy the great offer of food and beverages. The official opening starts with gun salutes at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Claus surprises the little visitors on Sunday. The Christmas market takes place on Saturday from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Free admission! Parking fee is € 2.
