Saturday, December 7:

Christmas City Tour of Ramstein in English

Explore the town center of Ramstein and hear about the historic development of the former farming village into a modern and international city. You will get to see traces of the past and the oldest buildings in town. The tour provides lots of information about present urban development and leisure activities. Besides that, you will get to know some details about Christmas time in Germany and special Christmas traditions in the Ramstein area.The event is family-friendly and free of charge! Please wear weatherproof clothing, comfortable shoes, and be up to exploring the city walking. As a goody a cool or warm drink and a little snack will be offered at the end of the tour at the restaurant “Die Bühne”. Have a chat with your fellow participants and round off the afternoon with a visit to the Ramstein Christmas market that is taking place right outside the restaurant.The “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz” state program is the sponsor of the tour. It will be carried out by the “Window to Rheinland-Pfalz” information center of the City of Ramstein-Miesenbach. Limited spots, please RSVP until December 6 via email at kmcc@infocenter-ramstein.de. The meeting point will be communicated after the registration. The tour starts at 3:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 7 – Sunday, December 8:

Nikolaus Market in Ramstein

On the second weekend of December the fountain on Ramstein´s market square turns into the largest Advent wreath in the region. Local associations and clubs cordially invite you to visit the Christmas market and enjoy a great time. Vendors present Christmas decoration, wood work, gift items and honey products. Visitors are welcome to stop by and linger at various booths offering food, beverages and Glühwein (mulled wine). The local kindergarten "Pinocchio" performs Christmas carols at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Santa Claus visits the market at 3:30 p.m. on both days. Further stage performances are provided by a music group of a church community. The opening hours of the Christmas market are Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday, December 7:

Christmas Market in Otterberg

Otterberg hosts a wonderful Christmas market in front of the medieval abbey church each Saturday in Advent from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Vendors offer Christmas decoration, gift ideas, cookies, Glühwein as well as food and beverages. From 6 p.m. the Otterberg music club entertains the visitors with Christmas melodies. Come along and have a great time!
