Winter Fest in Weltersbach

The shooting association of Steinwenden-Weltersbach hosts its annual winter fest. The event takes place in the outdoor area of the club house and starts at 5.30 p.m. Food and beverages such as Glühwein (mulled wine), children´s punch, soft drinks, sweet waffles as well as bratwurst (sausages) are available. Musical entertainment is provided, too. The venue will be illuminated by lights and torches in order to create a cozy atmosphere. The shooting association of Steinwenden-Weltersbach is looking forward to welcoming you!

Friday, February 2 – Sunday, February 4:

Winter Opening of the Japanese Garden Kaiserslautern

With about 13,500 square meters the Japanese Garden in Kaiserslautern has become the largest one of its kind in Europe and the first one in Rheinland-Pfalz. With its waterfalls, koi ponds, the Zen Garden and tea house the park is a great place to “recharge your batteries”. From November until end of March the park opens for the weekends from Friday through Sunday. On these days the opening hours are from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. During winter opening the admission fee is € 5.50. Children up to 11 years can visit the park free of charge. Dogs are not allowed. Saturday, February 3:

Weekly Fruit and Vegetable Market in Kaiserslautern

Weekly markets have been held around the Kaiserslautern Collegiate Church for hundreds of years. A photo from 1929 shows the weekly market on Stiftsplatz (market square), where it has been held since the mid-19th century to the present day. The weekly market takes place every Tuesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Kaiserslautern´s Stiftsplatz. Fresh and organic groceries such as fruits, vegetables, cheese, fish, meat and sausage products can be purchased. Baked goods as well as flowers and plants are available. Visitors are invited to browse around and experience the lovely atmosphere.
