Advent with the Ramstein Scouts and Light of Peace Campaign

The scouts of "BdP Stamm Kurpfalz Ramstein" will pick up the light of peace that is coming from Bethlehem in Speyer on December 11. The light will be distributed to all people who want to set an example of peace. The motto for this year´s peace light campaign is "Peace begins with you". Committing ourselves to peace is a decision that we make for us personally. The chance to achieve peace continues to grow with every decision for peace. As a quotation from Dalai Lama goes: "Peace begins within us". Therefore, peace begins with one's own decision and with each individual person. Peace also begins with you! The scouts´ Advent campaign including a varied program takes place at the Ramstein scout center from Monday through Friday from 4.30 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14 at 6 p.m. the lively Advent calendar, a daily evensong in Advent organized by the city of Ramstein-Miesenbach changing locations daily, will take place at the scout center. Friday, December 16 at 6 p.m. the scouts invite the public to their site to sing along Christmas songs with them and listen to Christmas stories. The light of peace will be passed on through a candle or lantern that people can bring with them. Stations decorated for Christmas invite you to stop and linger for a little while. Tea, punch and mulled wine will be offered inside the festive Christmas yurt. The Ramstein scouts would like to set an example for peace and an open-minded society.
