Thursday, February 27:

Fasching Party at Congress Center Ramstein

The Congress Center Ramstein hosts a big carnival party. Good mood is guaranteed by the regionally well-known party band “Habachtaler”. DJ Fibo will entertain the guests with great music in the lounge of Congress Center Ramstein. The popular percussion band “Phoenixkrechzer e.V.” performs again this year. Additionally, local carnival associations present men´s ballet. Food and drinks as well as cocktails are available. Doors open at 8 p.m. The music program starts at 8.30 p.m. Dress up in your favorite costume and celebrate with the locals! Admission: € 10 advance sale/ € 12 at the door. Merzalben Fasching Parade by Night

The annual night parade of Merzalben is the highlight of the street carnival in the Palatinate Forest. At nightfall numerous walking groups and floats wind their way through the crowded main street in Merzalben. With their illuminated floats and fancy costumes participants create a great atmosphere for the spectators. The parade starts at 7 p.m. After the parade the celebration continues at Festplatz in the village center (Rammelsbachstrasse).

Advice: One of the most impressive and best-preserved castle ruins in the Palatinate Forest, called Burgruine Gräfenstein, can be visited in Merzalben. Address: Hauptstrasse 36, 66978 Merzalben

Sunday, March 2:

Children´s Fasching Party at Congress Center Ramstein

Ramstein´s carnival association “KV BRUCHKATZE” hosts a carnival party for children at Congress Center Ramstein. Funny games, musical entertainment and dance presentations will be provided. The Ramstein carnival princess in her precious dress will be there dancing and playing with the children. Kids are invited to dress up in their favorite costume and join the party. Parents and grandparents are welcome as well. The event starts at 2 p.m. Admission is € 3. Address: Am Neuen Markt 4, 66877 Ramstein-Miesenbach

Tuesday, March 4:

Ramstein Fasching Parade

The big Westrich Fasching Parade is the highlight of the annual carnival season in the region. Colorful floats, walking groups and marching bands including the USAFE Band participate in the parade. The 3.2 km (2 miles) long route leads through the city center of Ramstein. The parade starts at 2 p.m. Thousands of visitors will line the streets. Participants will be throwing out candies or handing out drinks to the spectators. It´s time for being crazy, cheering up and having fun. Put on your favorite costume and be a witness of the exceptional atmosphere in downtown Ramstein! Parade badges will be sold among the spectators at the price of € 2.50 in support of the organizing association “KV BRUCHKATZE RAMSTEIN”. The badge enables the visitors to enter Congress Center Ramstein, where the Fasching celebrations continue with musical entertainment after the parade.

Spectators are requested to park out of the town center or use public transportation. The Ramstein train station is located next to the start of the parade. Barriers and roadblocks will be set up in the morning. The town center will be completely closed to traffic from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Address: Bahnhofstrasse 3, 66877 Ramstein-Miesenbach
